WellMoney Privacy Policy

Welcome to WellMoney!

WellMoney is a digital money sharing platform. This Privacy Policy applies to WellMoney members and visitors and is part of our Terms of Use.

Information You Provide Through Your Account

This is information that you provide to us through text fields, such as (but not necessarily limited to).

  • First and Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Username

  • Password

  • Payment Information

Members

Shorter:  Members create accounts, pay into an emergency fund pool and can request emergency funds. We need payment information from Members, and we use payment processors to receive and send funds.

A member is someone who creates a membership account with WellMoney, paying a monthly membership fee (and optional additional amounts), in order to support emergency funding needs for the member community. Members can also request emergency funding from WellMoney. As a member you must provide our payment processors with your payment information and information about where you would receive payment. You can see the privacy policy for these payment processors on the PayPal, Venmo and Stripe sites. At this time, WellMoney does not receive your full card or payment account number. Payment processors provide us with a token that represents your account, and if you use a credit or debit card, your card’s expiration date (if applicable), card or account type and the last four digits of your card number. If you are required to provide your name, email address, billing address, and/or telephone number to the payment processor, then they may also provide us with that information.

We collect and process information about your membership fee and any additional contributions you may make, each of your emergency funding requests (which may include additional questions we may ask in connection with the request), and how much emergency funding you may receive.  We will not share this information in any form identifiable to you with anyone other than people or companies who provide services to us, so that they can provide those services.

User Stories and Surveys

Shorter:  We might ask you to tell us your story or to participate in surveys.  We won’t identify you publicly in either the story or the survey, You’re free to say no when we ask.

If you receive emergency funds, we may ask you to tell us about how you used your emergency funds. If you agree to tell us your story, then with your permission, we may share an anonymized version of your story to promote our service to funders and other potential members. We will not otherwise share this information with anyone other than people or companies who provide services to us, so that they can provide those services.

From time to time, we may solicit your participation in user surveys. You are free to participate or not.  Not participating will not affect your membership.  We may ask you demographic information, including information related to your gender, ethnicity, race, age, sexual orientation, earnings, and accessibility to better understand and serve our community, which you may elect to share or not. We collect such information to ensure we provide fair and equal access to our services. To the extent that you participate, we will store your survey responses.
